GAURAV GUPTA FASHION EXHIBITION
As part of my Master's in Creative Direction for Fashion, the brief was to conceptualize and realize a fantasy brand collaboration in a way which is sustainable and innovative.
I was inclined towards providing an experience more than a transitory digital campaign for this project and with the rise of fashion exhibitions and installations, I wanted to create an exhibition featuring an Indian designer on an international platform. To showcase this collaboration, I have used AI generative imagery.
Gaurav Gupta has proved himself to be a couturier with an appetite for knowledge, art and sculptural fashion, pushing the boundaries of conventional Indian Couture. His sculptural designs always seem to have a sense of rhythm and a systematic form of movement. The designs are larger than life, where he moves away from conventional body types. He has mastered the art of mixing the conceptual with the classic, avant- garde with the commercial.
TREE OF LIFE
I wanted to realize his designs on sculptures so as to provide a unique platform for his artwork in a way that immortalizes his designs. I reimagined his designs using AI in the context of sculptures as a mode of display.
Being known as a revolutionary for embracing technology and futuristic designs, I wanted the exhibit to have a section for his state of the art, future - primitive designs, a testament to celebrate one of the first designers to amalgamate Indian Couture with cognitive AI.
Furthermore, I designed a brochure for this exhibition wherein the audience gets a preview on the different sections and some context about Gaurav Gupta's journey as a designer and as a label.
